Coexisting vortices and antivortices generated by dually gauged harmonic maps

چکیده

In this paper, we first formulate a dually gauged harmonic map model, suggested from product Abelian Higgs field theory arising in impurity-inspired theories, and obtain new BPS system of equations governing coexisting vortices antivortices, which are topologically characterized by the Chern classes underlying Hermitian bundles Thom their associated dual bundles. We then establish existence uniqueness theorems for such vortices. For over compact surface, necessary sufficient conditions solutions. full plane, all finite-energy addition, also present precise expressions giving values various physical quantities solutions, including magnetic charges energies, terms total numbers two species coupling parameters involved.

Gauged vortices in a background

We discuss the statistical mechanics of a gas of gauged vortices in the canonical formalism. At critical self-coupling, and for low temperatures, it has been argued that the configuration space for vortex dynamics in each topological class of the abelian Higgs model approximately truncates to a finite-dimensional moduli space with a Kähler structure. For the case where the vortices live on a 2-...

Vortices and antivortices in two-dimensional ultracold Fermi gases

Vortices are commonly observed in the context of classical hydrodynamics: from whirlpools after stirring the coffee in a cup to a violent atmospheric phenomenon such as a tornado, all classical vortices are characterized by an arbitrary circulation value of the local velocity field. On the other hand the appearance of vortices with quantized circulation represents one of the fundamental signatu...

Stable Gauged Maps

We give an introduction to moduli stacks of gauged maps satisfying a stability conditition introduced by Mundet [55] and Schmitt [61], and the associated integrals giving rise to gauged Gromov-Witten invariants. We survey various applications to cohomological and Ktheoretic Gromov-Witten invariants.

Slow Schrödinger Dynamics of Gauged Vortices

Multivortex dynamics in Manton's Schrödinger–Chern–Simons variant of the Landau– Ginzburg model of thin superconductors is studied within a moduli space approximation. It is shown that the reduced flow on M N , the N vortex moduli space, is hamiltonian with respect to ω L 2 , the L 2 Kähler form on M N. A purely hamiltonian discussion of the conserved momenta associated with the euclidean symme...
